The military history book is complete
Well, well, that was quick. Three months, done. Now, let me throw some lovely statistics at ya. Book length? About 80,000 words, give or take a few, thirty-five images, thirty-three tables, a combat simulation (written in octave). Study material? I read about 150 books, and about thrice as many reports, journals, monographs, and webpages in six languages. I marked about 800 annotations, and ended up with slightly under 700 citations and references. And the genre?
Now, that’s something I’d like to keep under wraps for a little while longer. But I would like you to try to guess. I’m gonna give you some hints. The topic covers modern history, even contemporary events. About 80 years worth of combat, some 27 distinct conflicts and wars, about a dozen military platforms and systems, plus a thorough examination of multiple doctrines. It’s all there. Pronably the most ambitious, complex project I’ve ever done.
Well, if you guess, you’ll get a medal. A virtual one, of course.
Stay tuned.
