I’m going to write a book on artificial intelligence, oh oh
So, I’m going to board the hype train. But not as a passenger. As the driver! Think about it. Who better to write a book on AI than a diehard curmudgeonly tech-savvy skeptic who treats this whole thing as one big conditioning experiment? Exactly. No one. Now, the topic. Ethics, of course. What else is there.

Whether we like it or not, the concept of AI is going to be around for quite some time. It signifies a major cultural and social shift, deserved or not, desired or not, catastrophic or not. Indeed, the only question that really matters is, in which direction is this new supposedly wondrous technology going to take us. I’m sure that philosophers debated this same dilemma come the steam engine, come the electricity, come the birth of the Internet. And once more, we must ponder and wonder.
Now, I’m not going to be writing this book alone. I’m going to do it with a friend, and we’ve already penned down one joint work together, the System Administration Ethics book. Writing with other people is hard, but if you do it well, it’s a fantastic achievement. My buddy and I are almost total opposites when it comes to character, style, even opinion. But we complement each other superbly, and have done so for more than a decade of joint projects and solid, tangible, repeated accomplishments.
That would be all for now. A wee teaser. Stay tuned for updates.
