Dear ladies and gents, I am pleased to announce that my first book in The Lost Words epic fantasy series, The Betrayed, has been reviewed by Readers’ Favorite. The review is highly positive, five stars yup, so this is a great opportunity to share some.
My very first fantasy read was The Hobbit. And I immediately fell in love with the book. I was probably twelve at the time. Next came The Lord of The Rings, which really opened the world of fantasy books before me. I was still a youngster back then, and I struggled slightly with the multitude of characters and plots.
Anyhow, what I want to talk to you is one’s change in the like and dislike of certain authors and sub-genres of the fantasy world, and how my own perception of the literary works changed over time, most likely caused by the inevitable aging and arguable mental maturity gently settling upon my shoulders. So what gives?

My benevolence knows no bounds. Next week, both the first and the second book in my epic fantasy series, The Lost Words, will be free for download from Amazon, for two days each. Respectively, the Kindle edition of The Betrayed will be available on Mar 25-26, from midnight, Pacific Time, and The Broken will be available on Mar 27-28. In layman’s terms, free grub Tuesday to Friday.
There we go, book three is underway! I have contacted my publisher, and now we’re going to start the editing process, with all its subtle and time-consuming little details, including going through all of the manuscript and fixing errors and whatnot, designing the cover and the rest.
And when I say mine, I mean yours. Now, so far you have only had two books, which means we cannot discuss those who survive into the third and fourth installment of this series, but we sure can dabble a little into the protagonists, antagonists and other gonists featured in The Betrayed and The Broken.
Year 2014 has officially commenced. Do you know what that means? Yes you do. You have just read the title of this article, like duh. But yes, I am going to contact my editor any time now, and start working on the third volume in The Lost Words series. In other words, fun.
Let us announce the happy winner of this contest. All in all, more than forty people pledged, or had their names pledged to the contest, including the participants of the original my-best-software and the subsequent limerick contests. However, only 22 of them wrote their reviews in time, before the official expiry date of Year 2013. We even had one exception, of a contestant who could not purchase the book on Amazon due to regional restrictions and whatnot, but they got their book by postal mail and subsequently wrote their opinion on Goodreads.
The holiday season is still upon us. But the giveaway is over now. However, we can discuss the ups and downs of what happened in the four days my two books, The Betrayed and The Broken, were free for all on the Amazon site. Indeed, this is the breakdown of the zero-cost fun.
