Ah, this is the question that every author has asked themselves, at some point in their career. Now, I personally believe that one should not write books for money – as opposed to getting paid to write, ’tis a subtle difference. One should write with love and passion, and if a work makes it into the big beyond, then it’s a nice bonus. A really nice bonus. Now, regardless of what your motives are, the question remains. And the answer is: no, of course not, don’t be silly.
All right, we have boldly marched into a new year. As a present for you reading my stuff, I gave the first book in my epic fantasy series for free, for three days, on Amazon.com, in its Kindle format. Pretty much the same thing we did to celebrate Dedoimedo’s sixth birthday. So no that we’re done with the partying, let’s take a look at the results.
Something amazing happened. Apparently, the free label has its charms. And for three days, from June 26 to June 28, people from all over the world flocked to The Betrayed Amazon.com page to get the Kindle edition of the book for zero money. As you recall, I made the book freely available as part of the Dedoimedo’s sixth year birthday celebration. So what happened during these three jolly days? Well, among other things, the book peaked as high as spot #3 in the Epic Fantasy category. But let me not spoil everything. Follow me.
