Now that I’m done with my anti-hero Rennaissance fantasy novel and my first-person zombie novella, I decided to try yet another new angle at writing. So my curiosity took me to 8th Century BC, the Biblical times. As a man with a very particular taste for religion, or rather lack thereof, writing from a biblical point of view is a most refreshing challenge for me.
I am pleased to showcase the cover art for the upcoming third book in The Lost Words series. This time around, I have commissioned the awesome Anton Kokarev of kanartist.ru, to create the cover for me. As always, it’s a divine motif from the book. Now, I will also be redesigning the art work for the first and the second book in the series, and I will call upon Anton’s talent for those, as well.
This time, it’s the zombie novella. Overall, it took me about two weeks of active writing to finish it. Well, maybe less. But finished it is. Now, it’s not a great body of words, only 14K, but for the first installament in a crazy series, I guess it’s cool enough. You might wonder what’s so special about this zombie piece that you haven’t seen anywhere else before?
As some of you already know, I am not only a cunning linguist and a master debater, I am also an accomplished 3D designer. I want to give you a preview of a new hybrid weapon concept I made, a crossbow splash revolver pistol, created in the best of Steampunk genre fashion. 3D, of course.
In just 34 days! And it’s 102K words! This averages to about 3K words a day, and it’s my new personal record, when we compare it to my best achievement so far, the third, penultimate and upcoming book in The Lost Words series. Now, let me tell you a bit about this new book.
I guess writing a single one is not a challenge anymore. So I have started writing three new ones, more or less simultaneously. Three! Now that I’ve finished The Lost Words series, I am trying new things. The first book is a gunpowder-era fast-action no-magic adventure, with a special kind of protagonist. If you can guess, I’m gonna buy you a dinner. Seriously.
Yes, I am being benevolent again, sooner than expected. Next week, a lot of cool things are going to happen. On Tuesday, May 6, The Broken is going to be free for 24 hours.
